eden emulator setup guide
Eden Eden latest stable / Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux Last verified October 2026 Risk: none
Quick answer
Install Eden, point it at your keys and firmware folders, then add your games directory. Each step lists what you should see when it works.
Eden is the most-used Yuzu successor. First-run failures almost always come down to two things: a keys folder that isn’t where Eden looks, and a games directory that was never added. This page walks the setup in order and tells you what each step should look like when it works.
Install Eden
-
Download Eden from the official repositoryGet the build for your OS from the project's own release channel — the official Eden repository is the source to trust. Third-party "mirror" sites repackage builds and are not linked here. The download is an archive from the project's own domain, not a wrapper installer from an unfamiliar host.
-
Extract it to a folder you controlUnzip to something like
C:\Emulators\Eden\. AvoidProgram Files— permission prompts will fight you later, and avoid OneDrive-synced folders, which break the keys path. The folder contains the Eden executable plususer/— that subfolder is where your keys and firmware will live. -
Run Eden once to create its foldersLaunch the executable and let it initialize, then close it. First launch creates the
user/structure, including thekeys/folder.After closing,user/keys/exists — empty is fine, existing is the point.
Point Eden at your keys and firmware
-
Copy your keys file inPlace
prod.keysdirectly inuser/keys/. If you're migrating from Yuzu, the same file works unchanged — see migrating from Yuzu to Eden.Eden no longer reports a keys error on startup, and the log stops mentioning missing title keys. -
Install firmwareFirmware also comes from your own console. Drop the dumped firmware into the location Eden's firmware dialog points to —
Tools → Install Firmwarewalks you through it.The firmware dialog shows your installed firmware version instead of "no firmware found".
Add your games
-
Add your games directoryDouble-click the "Add Game Directory" area (or
File → Add Game Directory) and pick the folder your games live in. Eden scans it and lists what it finds.Your games appear in the grid with cover art instead of an empty library. -
Launch a game and let shaders buildFirst launch of each game compiles shaders and can take a minute — that's normal, not a hang. Subsequent launches are fast. The game reaches its title screen. If it errors on keys instead, go back to the keys fix.
