ryubing install guide

Ryubing Ryubing latest stable / Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux, macOS Last verified October 2026 Risk: none
Quick answer

Install Ryubing, add your keys and firmware, then load a game. Ryubing continues Ryujinx, so an existing setup usually carries over unchanged.

Ryubing is the main continuation of Ryujinx — the original project ended in October 2024, and the Ryubing organization now runs the emulator and its website at ryujinx.app. If you used Ryujinx, your keys, firmware and saves carry over; if you’re new, this page walks the setup.

Install Ryubing

  1. Download from the official site
Get builds from ryujinx.app — the domain moved to the Ryubing organization after the original project ended, and it's the current official channel. Avoid mirror sites that reuse the old branding.
The download comes from ryujinx.app itself, over HTTPS, with a version number matching the site's release list.
  2. Extract and run once
Unzip to a folder you own (not Program Files, not a OneDrive-synced folder), run the executable once, then close it. First launch creates the system/ and keys/ folders Ryubing expects.
Both folders exist after the first launch.

Add keys, firmware and games

  1. Place your keys file
Put prod.keys directly in the keys/ folder. If you're migrating from Ryujinx or Yuzu, the same file works — see the Yuzu migration guide for the folder-by-folder version.
Ryubing stops reporting a keys error on startup.
  2. Install firmware through the emulator
Use Tools → Install Firmware and point it at firmware dumped from your own console. The installer places it where Ryubing looks.
The firmware dialog shows your installed version.
  3. Add your games directory
Point Ryubing at the folder your games live in. It scans and lists what it finds.
Your library appears in the game list.

What changed from Ryujinx

Ryubing keeps the Ryujinx interface and folder layout on purpose — muscle memory carries over. The practical differences: releases are more frequent, the download page offers Linux builds for x64 and ARM, and macOS is supported on Apple Silicon only. If a Ryujinx setting guide tells you to change something, it almost certainly applies unchanged; if Ryujinx’s firmware dialog complains about versions, the same version mismatch fix applies.

First-run keys errors and choosing a fork

Keys errors are the most common first-run problem — prod keys not found covers the checks in order. Comparing Ryubing against Eden and the other active forks? See which Switch emulator still works.
